Phil Miller is a native Texan, born in Palestine. He and his wife, Kay, live in Kaufman, Kay’s hometown, and are members of First Baptist Church. Phil and Kay have two grown children – Jay Miller, Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas; and Jana White, a freelance graphic designer who lives in Norfolk, Virginia. Jay & Nicole are proud parents of Corbin & Levi. Jana & Robert are proud parents of Jack & Bennett. Together, this Fearsome Foursome of Grandsons is the greatest blessing imaginable for Phil & Kay.
Prior to joining the convention staff, Phil served on church staff in Texas for 23 years in 3 churches in combinations of Youth, Music, College, and Education/Administration. He joined the Baptist General Convention of Texas staff in December, 1996.
Phil serves as Director of the Center for Church Health where he guides the work of Texas Baptists in the areas of Discipleship/NextGen, Evangelism, Church Health and Growth, Music & Worship, and Church Architecture.
This session, "What Makes Christian Education (Sunday School) Distinct" will explore the unique role that Sunday School/Bible Study has in providing a solid foundation for every church member to be transformed by God's Word.
