The Frio River Baptist Association is comprised of 50 churches. These churches are located across 8 South Texas counties: from La Coste in the north to Laredo in the south, from Carrizo Springs in the west to Pleasanton and Tilden in the east. These congregations represent African-American, Anglo and Hispanic Baptists.

FRBA Mission Statement

  1. Connect churches with those organizations and ministries best equipped to assist them in reaching their communities with the Gospel.
  2. Encourage ministry staff as they seek to serve the people in the place God has called them.
  3. Provide funding, training and guidance to churches seeking to establish new churches.
  4. Partner with churches to organize events.
  5. Assist churches in becoming involved in hands-on mission work.
  6. Promote healthy church relations.
  7. Facilitate fellowship among churches.

(geared towards those responsible for church bookkeeping/accounting)

Each session will include time for individualized questions & answers.

This year's seminar will be led by Daniel Whitehurst, CPA. Mr. Whitehurst currently serves Texas Baptists as a volunteer for the Institutions Audit Group and as their outside consultant for minister and church taxation.

Churches have a special calling to handle God's money in a way that reflects true stewardship. It is important that church leaders stay up-to-date on important issues and changing laws that impact their churches. This seminar will provide all the information needed to do just that.
Topics will cover top legal issues facing the church, building/operational issues, accounting and auditing of the church, as well as key concerns for pastors. You'll learn about specific tax laws affecting pastors and churches as well as new & revised tax laws/procedures for the coming year.

This seminar is for:

--Business Administrators
--Church Treasurers
--Church Office Managers
--Personnel Committees
--Finance Committees
--Building & Grounds Committees
--Anyone else who may be interested

Registration cost for the seminar is $5 which includes lunch.

Participants may choose to attend one or both sessions as applicable to their needs.
